I recently spoke with Pitchaide.com about why I started YouEx.ai, what we've learned since launching it, and where we're headed next.

The conversation got at something I've been thinking about for a long time: the biggest opportunity for AI isn't giving everyone a chatbot. It's embedding AI into the way work actually gets done.

Before starting YouEx.ai, I was leading a GTM team while also consulting with Fortune 500 companies on GenAI strategy and implementation. I kept seeing the same challenge.

Getting a basic AI chat experience deployed for business users wasn't particularly difficult. The hard part was connecting AI to the systems, data, processes, and actions that make it genuinely useful. Companies were spending a lot of time rebuilding those integrations from scratch.

Meanwhile, software engineering was showing us a different model.

The Lesson From Software Engineering

Developers didn't become dramatically more productive simply because ChatGPT could write code. AI began finding its way throughout the software development lifecycle: writing code, reviewing pull requests, generating documentation, assisting with QA, working with source control, and more.

AI became part of the workflow. I wanted to bring that same idea to sales.

That's also why we intentionally didn't build YouEx.ai as another sales point solution. Sales teams already have plenty of those. There's a tool for website chat, another for enrichment, another for lead scoring, another for outreach, another for scheduling, and then a CRM underneath everything.

Eventually somebody has to make all of those things work together.

With YouEx, we're trying to make AI part of the entire workflow: engage a prospect on the website, answer questions, capture the lead, research and qualify them, route them, follow up, schedule a meeting, and ultimately manage the opportunity.

What's Next

We're working toward launching YouEx on Salesforce AgentExchange, building an n8n integration to complement our Zapier integration, and creating a WordPress plugin that makes deploying YouEx significantly easier.

We also recently launched AI Forms. I'll admit that one took some convincing for me. I still believe conversational AI is often a better website experience than a traditional form. But customers kept telling us they wanted forms.

So instead of fighting it, we asked: What would a form look like if it had an AI assistant built into it? The result is a form where the AI can answer questions and even help the visitor complete it.

It's another version of the same idea that started YouEx.ai in the first place: AI shouldn't be another destination you have to visit. It should be embedded in the work you're already doing.
